Episode 03:
Smells Like Zombie Apocalypse

Fable Weaver:
It had been several days since the Nightingales and other orphans had taken up residence in the old motel. They had taken to calling themselves the Lost Boys, after an old vampire movie, enough though half of them were girls.

Mono Nightingale:
"Two days with no sleep," Mono yawned.

Mortimer "Morte" Nightingale:
"Take a nap. I need to call the police and report Mom and Dad missing."

Marshall Nightingale:
"We need lights. Lots of lights. Maybe a backup generator."

Mortimer "Morte" Nightingale:
"You should get some rest, too. We all should. At least a few hours. We'll get more done rested and with a clear head. We can't be dozing off tonight, in case those things come back."

Fable Weaver:
Mono and Marshall went to take a nap, and Morte got on the phone. He was swiftly put on hold. Apparently, there were many missing person reports being filed today.

Mono Nightingale:
"I can't believe you bought a motel."

Marshall Nightingale:
"A real fixer-upper," nobody was sure if Marshall was being sarcastic or not.

Mortimer "Morte" Nightingale:
"What I have I gotten myself into."
Morte held his head in his hands, not knowing what to do. I suppose I could take down that sign, give the place a better name.

Fable Weaver:
In front of the motel and all down the street, paramedics worked to help all the recovering victims. They would never fully understand what had happened. Even if the Nightingales explained it to them. Even if showed a video, people would explain it away with any and every excuse their minds could invent. Nobody else would ever know how close the world had come to being overrun with a zombie apocalypse.
